Brittany and Erin were out shopping for their summer wardrobe. Not only were they shopping but they were guy watching and giggling at comments they’d make about guys that’d pass by them.
“I’m surprised Damien didn’t join us. He loves to shop”, Erin twirled around on the sidewalk a bag in each hand.
“Yeah but he said he was busy with something when I tried to call him then hung up in my face. So rude! I haven’t even seen him since he left for the party yesterday.”
“Maybe he went home with someone”, Erin suggested.
Brittany shrugged, “Maybe. OH look a new store come on”, Brittany cleared her mine of all concern for her older brother. Then she rush off inside the store, dragging Erin behind her
“Did you ask Felix if he wanted to come with? I mean he gives pretty good shopping advice”, Brittany brought up.
“I don’t know if Felix wanted me to tell you this or not but he’s gay”, Erin rubbed the back of her neck awkwardly. Brittany had been pressuring her all of second semester to tell Felix how she felt about him. She had just now gotten around to telling her how that went.
“What? Dude my brother’s gay….maybe we can hook them up! I mean he’s such a baby and gets all scared and stuff when it comes to talking to hot guys but Felix isn’t that intimidating with his looks. They’d make a cute couple”, Brittany chirped away, disregarding Erin’s feelings about being rejected because he best friend slash crush was gay.
Damien and Felix were sitting at a small table in a little diner. Their legs occasionally touched and brushed against one another’s. At one point to solve their leg space issue Damien put his legs on the outside of Felix’s making Felix feel small and trapped as the other boy’s legs gripped his, warmth seeping through Damien’s pants and warming up Felix’s legs. The heat traveled up to his face and into his cheeks. Damien smiled and brushed some of Felix’s hair out of his face so he could look into both eyes.
Felix jerked his head away slightly and shyly sipped his coffee and looked out the window quietly as he put his elbow on the table and cradled his head on his hand.
“What’s wrong”, Damien asked drawing his brows together.
“Hm?”
“I mean you seem….distant.”
“I’m just thinking”, he gave a slight shrug, “Do you have anyone in your family who teased you a lot out of love but really and truly they’re just humiliating you?”
“Yeah, my sister”, he snorted at the thought of how his little sister Brittany humiliated him in public often. She’d scream at guys he was secretly checking out and tell them that he was looking at them and tell them how he wish to suck their cocks along with other vulgar things.
“My whole family is like that. Apparently I’m a walking, talking, living, breathing joke to them that they just can’t get enough of when it comes to teasing”, Felix rubbed his thumb against the side of the coffee mug.
“Oh…is it because you’re the baby of the family or something?”
Felix shook his head.
“Well if you’re scared of telling them about us then we can wait a little. There’s no rush. Kind of like telling someone you’re dating somebody then the next day you break up.”
Felix gawked at him with an almost horrified look on his face.
“Not that we’d break up tomorrow or anything! Just sometimes there’s no rush to go screaming to the world about news. We can keep it between us for a while”, he reached out his hand, wanting to take Felix’s.
He stared at the other boy’s hand for a long while before he placed his hand in Damien’s who’s larger hand closed around his smaller hand.
Brody was glaring at the couple by the window now holding hands. He was screaming in his head at Damien attempting to send him mental messages to stop touching his Felix. Brody rubbed his right temple when he got a minor headache from trying to ask too much from his simple human mind.
Giving up temporarily he ordered a small lunch, not wanting to get too comfortable. He needed to be able to leave quickly without being slowed down with the length of time it takes to cook a large meal.
Picking at his salad he analyzed the couple and wondered what they were saying to one another before he started to come up with his own script for them. In his mind he pretended he was Damien and was confessing a whole closet of skeletons to Felix, and Felix in return was sharing a locker of secrets. Sighing he wished it was him instead of Damien.
Brittany and Erin emerged from the store and were walking past a diner, Erin’s stomach growled. Just then she saw someone familiar out the corner of her eye then she did a double take it was Felix and Damien! They were sitting by the window holding hands smiling over their drinks. Brittany stopped and backed up when she noticed Erin had stopped walking with her. Then she giggled when she saw her brother and Felix then pressed her face against the glass and made faces. Damien and Felix’s head turned.
Damien just stared at his sister in horror then looked at Felix, but it was too late he was gawking at her and there was no way to salvage this. Damien just sunk in his seat waiting to die, wondering what he did to deserve this.
Before Erin could stop Brittany she burst inside the diner and grinned at her brother and Felix then cooed and squealed over the two of then saying how they’re such a cute couple.
“Have you two done it yet? Is that why you didn’t come home last night”, Brittany began to question them.
Felix blushed and removed his hand from Damien’s and rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. Damien just put his hand over his face and shook his head. How could this moment possibly get any worse?
Then, just like his sister was reading his mind and thinking this was a challenge she opened her mouth again and blurted out personal in formation for the whole diner to hear. The clicking of forks and spoons and knives being stopped against plates, bowls, and mugs echoed through the diner as the few people who were in there stopped to stare at the direction of the news they just received.
